The Injury Saga continued

Well, it’s been a couple of weeks now since I sustained my thumb injury and sods law, I went back to training as it was getting better and hurt it again. I spent three hours in the A&E and one x-ray later was told that it was soft tissue and nerve damage and to rest it between four to six weeks. DOH!!

Oh well, doesn’t mean that I can’t keep up my cardio drills. I went with a friend who lives near to me and did some hill sprints with car tyres. Sounded good at the time but it was a technique that “tyres” you very quickly, pardon the pun.  It was good training though and I was not too bad the following day. I have also since my injury been doing some defence sparring, where all I can do is try to submit  my opponent and I am not allowed to strike, where as they can do everything and although it’s quite hard to get in close for the take down initially, it makes you read your opponent more and act a lot quicker. Yes, I did get quite hurt from some of the upper cuts and one of my opponents in the Saturday class got on top of me and began to introduce me to a whole World of ground and pound. But I loved it as I covered up good and just lay there. You’d be surprised at how much pounding you can take before you need to explode back onto your feet. I will soon do some more of this crazy training and put it on the site.

Keep checking out the site and create your profiles, as there will be more for the members coming soon.
