Well, I had to take a week off from training as I suffered an injury to my thumb. I thought that a few days off would sort it and went back to training after a week of nothing but sitting at home in the evenings, twiddling my thumbs (excuse the pun) and having withdrawal symptoms from no training. And typically, hurt the same thumb again. Not sure what I’ve done to it but I can’t bend it, so grabbing opponent’s arms and legs and putting locks on are very painful. I even have problems putting my own socks on! So I will now have to book an appointment and see what the Doc says. Hopefully it’s only bruised and just needs proper time to heal.
I know that this time off again will be tough the pain of no training will hurt more than my thumb. Oh well, I suppose this is the nature of the sport that I have chosen to do and I should expect a few more injuries along the way no doubt. I will look to still do a few tamer classes and keep learning the techniques and maybe just sit out of the sparring. The only problem is I don’t think that I’m disciplined enough to just sit there and watch people fight when I want to be in there. Let’s see what happens.
